The inspection form is organized into sections and subsections that mirror the trades and systems you inspect. Here's how to navigate the form and record a status for each area.
How Sections Are Organized
The form groups subsections under trade-based sections — for example:
- Structural Systems — Foundations, Grading and Drainage, Roof Covering, etc.
- Electrical Systems — Service Entrance and Panels, Branch Circuits, etc.
- HVAC — Heating Equipment, Cooling Equipment, etc.
Scroll through the form to move between sections. Each section header shows the section name and can be expanded or collapsed.
Setting a Status for a Subsection
Each subsection has four status buttons:
| Button | Meaning |
|---|---|
| I | Inspected |
| NI | Not Inspected |
| NP | Not Present |
| D | Deficient |
The D (Deficient) button is highlighted in red to draw attention to deficiencies.
You can tap a button manually, but statuses are also set automatically as you add findings:
- Adding a General Comment to a subsection automatically selects I (Inspected)
- Adding a Deficiency automatically selects both I and D
If you delete all findings from a subsection, the statuses are not cleared automatically — you'll need to update them manually.
Adding a Finding to a Subsection
Click the + button inside any subsection to add a finding. See Adding Findings for the full walkthrough.
