Agile Inspections lets you capture photos directly from your mobile device during inspections.
Prerequisites
- Mobile app installed (iOS or Android)
- Camera access granted to Agile Inspections app
- Active internet connection (or offline mode enabled)
Granting Camera Permissions
iOS
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Camera
- Find Agile Inspections in the list
- Ensure "Allow" is selected
Android
- Go to Settings → Apps → Permissions
- Select Camera permissions
- Find Agile Inspections and enable camera access
Taking a Photo in the App
Step 1: Open Your Inspection
Launch Agile Inspections and navigate to your current inspection.
Step 2: Locate Camera Button
In the inspection or finding creation screen, look for the camera icon.
Step 3: Tap Camera Icon
Click the camera button to open your device's camera.
Step 4: Frame Your Shot
- Position your device to capture the area you want to document
- Ensure adequate lighting
- Avoid shadows and glare
- Hold steady for a clear shot
Step 5: Take the Photo
Tap the shutter button to capture the image.
Step 6: Review Photo
Review the captured photo:
- Confirm it's clear and properly exposed
- Check the composition
- Retake if needed
Step 7: Confirm and Save
Tap "Use Photo" or "Save" to attach it to your finding or inspection.
Tips for Better Photos
- Lighting: Ensure good lighting - use flash if needed in dim areas
- Stability: Keep your device steady to avoid blurry photos
- Distance: Capture both wide shots and close-ups
- Angles: Try different angles to show the issue clearly
- Clean Lens: Wipe your device's camera lens before shooting
- Avoid Shadows: Position yourself to minimize shadows on the subject
- Context: Include surrounding area for reference
Common Issues
Camera Won't Open:
- Check if app has camera permissions
- Verify camera isn't in use by another app
- Restart the app
Photos Are Blurry:
- Clean your device's camera lens
- Hold device steady when taking photos
- Improve lighting conditions
- Try the video stabilization feature
Photos Are Too Dark:
- Use your device's flash
- Move closer to a light source
- Increase device brightness
- Try adjusting exposure in camera app
Camera Permission Denied:
- Go to device Settings
- Find Agile Inspections app
- Enable Camera permission
- Restart the app
Using Photos from Gallery
If you prefer to use previously taken photos:
- Look for "Gallery" or "Upload Photo" option
- Select photo from your device's photo library
- Confirm and attach to your inspection
