How to Edit Your Report Template

Customize your report template to match your branding and include the information that matters most to your clients.

Step 1: Access Template Editor

Navigate to:

  • Settings → Report Templates
  • Or Account → Branding & Templates

Step 2: Select Template to Edit

Choose from:

  • Default template
  • Your custom templates
  • Pre-built templates to customize

Step 3: Template Customization Options

Layout Sections

Configure which sections appear in your reports:

  • Header
  • Property details
  • Client information
  • Inspection findings
  • Photos/attachments
  • Recommendations
  • Inspector signature
  • Footer

Content Fields

Choose which fields to display:

  • Toggle individual fields on/off
  • Reorder sections
  • Add or remove sections

Styling Options

Customize the appearance:

  • Font selection
  • Font size and colors
  • Header/footer design
  • Page numbering
  • Section dividers

Branding Elements

  • Add your company logo
  • Include company name and contact info
  • Add custom headers/footers
  • Adjust margins and spacing

Step 4: Preview Template

Use the preview feature to see how your template will look before saving. Test with sample data.

Step 5: Save Template

Click "Save Template" to save your changes.

Creating Multiple Templates

You can create different templates for different purposes:

  • Residential inspections
  • Commercial inspections
  • Limited scope inspections
  • Reports with different detail levels

Step 6: Set Default Template

Choose which template is used by default when generating new reports. You can always select a different template during report generation.

Tips

  • Keep templates consistent for professional appearance
  • Test templates thoroughly before using with clients
  • Create a light version for quick summaries
  • Create detailed versions for comprehensive reports
  • Keep copies of working templates before making major changes

Editing Generated Documents

If you need to make final adjustments to a specific report:

  1. Generate the Word document
  2. Open in Microsoft Word
  3. Make final edits directly in the document
  4. Save and send to client
